What We Help With
-
Traumatic experiences can affect the way we think, feel, and respond long after the event has passed. Our counselors use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to help individuals process difficult experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, and develop healthy coping strategies. Treatment is tailored to support healing, resilience, and long-term emotional well-being.
-
Ongoing personal, professional, and family responsibilities can lead to emotional exhaustion and chronic stress. Counseling focuses on identifying the factors contributing to overwhelm while developing healthier boundaries, emotional regulation skills, and sustainable self-care practices. The goal is to restore balance, strengthen resilience, and improve overall well-being.
-
Life is filled with unexpected challenges and transitions that can leave us feeling uncertain or overwhelmed. Counseling provides support in navigating personal, family, career, and relationship concerns while building practical coping skills, resilience, and confidence to manage life's demands more effectively.
-
Young adulthood often brings new responsibilities, changing relationships, educational and career decisions, and questions about identity and purpose. Counseling provides a supportive space to navigate these transitions, strengthen confidence, improve communication, and develop practical skills for managing life's challenges.
-
Persistent worry, racing thoughts, panic, and difficulty relaxing can interfere with daily life. Counseling helps individuals understand the sources of anxiety while developing practical strategies to manage symptoms, build confidence, and regain a sense of calm and control.
-
Grief can follow the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, life transitions, or other significant changes. Counseling provides a compassionate space to process emotions, adjust to loss, and move forward while honoring what has been meaningful.
-
Healthy relationships require communication, trust, and mutual understanding. Whether you're navigating conflict, boundaries, family dynamics, or the impact of difficult relationships, counseling can help you develop healthier patterns and stronger connections.
-
The way we see ourselves influences nearly every aspect of life. Counseling can help identify and challenge negative self-beliefs, strengthen confidence, and foster a more balanced and compassionate view of yourself.

Lassandra Purnell, MSW, LCSW
Founder & Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Life has a way of changing us. Some seasons bring joy and growth, while others leave us navigating uncertainty, loss, trauma, or transitions we never expected. Through my work in community mental health, clinical leadership, and private practice, I've had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families during many of those moments. Those experiences have reinforced one belief: everyone deserves a space to feel heard, supported, and understood.
As a wife, mother, Army veteran, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I understand that life doesn't pause while we're trying to heal. We continue showing up for work, caring for our families, and meeting responsibilities, often while carrying burdens that others cannot see. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based care, creating a space where you can process your experiences, strengthen your resilience, and move toward the life you want to create.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, therapy is not about having all the answers. It's about having a safe place to explore the questions, discover your strengths, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Wherever you are in your journey, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
